First Place: This year's prize is a twenty dollar Barns & Noble gift card and for the flash fiction to be posted on Story Anchor.

Second Place: This year's prize is a ten dollar Barns & Noble gift card and for the flash fiction to be posted on Story Anchor.

Third Place: This year's prize is for the flash fiction to be posted on Story Anchor.

CONTENT LIMITATION
Please keep your story's word count under 1,500 and please avoid crude or profane language, sexual content and excessive gore. If you're unsure if something in your story is okay feel free to email me and double check.

Your flash fiction must be based on a song. Which song that is is entirely up to you; however, please do not write a story based on a song that goes against the content limitations. YOU MUST INCLUDE THE NAME AND ARTIST OF THE SONG YOU SELECT AT THE TOP OF YOUR SUBMISSION.

  2. Confirm your subscription. (Keep the confirmation email; it will be used again later.)
  3. Write your flash fiction story. 
  4. Reply to the confirmation email with your flash fiction attached AND mention the name and artist of the song your story is themed after.

    Do you mean a maximum of 1,500 words? Also, do you want us to write before the contest starts, or when the contest starts?

    How are we supposed to write a story based off of a song? Wouldn't that be like paraphrasing it or something? i dont know exactly what to do

      By based I mean inspired. It shouldn't be paraphrased, merely the inspiration behind the poem. I hope this helps.
